Multilingualism

The University of Minho (UMinho), with its accession to the European Language Council (CEL/ELC) in 2006 and its continued participation in several European projects in the area of lifelong language learning, plays the leading role in the strategic framework for multilingualism and interculturality, thus contributing to Portugal’s policy as a Member State of the European Union. • as vital element of a region of knowledge and culture.

At national level, BabeliUM – Language Centre is a member of the Association of Language Centres in Higher Education in Portugal (ReCLes.pt) via a 2009 cooperation agreement, and thus associated with the European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education (CercleS).
